Argus Real Time Monitoring System

Argus is a real time network monitoring system designed for the XL-MAX. It provides the following functions:

  • Network utilization monitoring
  • User defined traffic alarms
  • Alarm emailing
  • Traffic reporting

Network Utilization Monitoring

Argus allows you to view network utilization numbers in real time. Organized by trunk groups, routes, and VoIP termination gateways the following information will be shown:

  • In Use/Capacity
  • Number of attempted calls
  • Answered Calls
  • Answer/Seized Ratio (ASR)
  • Average Length of Call (ALOC)
  • Post Dial Delay (PDD)

User Defined Traffic Alarms

Argus allows you to define a lower and upper threshold that equate to Red and Yellow alarms. A threshold can be established that designates when a circuit should be taken out of service based on the following:

  • Answer/Seized Ration (ASR)
  • Average Length of Call (ALOC)
  • Post Dial Delay (PDD)
  • Utilization

Additionally, the amount of time until a circuit is returned to service after it has automatically been taken out of service can be specified.

Alarm Email

Argus allows you to specify up to five email addresses to which alarms can be sent to technicians or operations personnel. These alarms are triggered by specific alarm conditions written into the operational switching software.

Traffic Reports

Argus automatically creates daily traffic statistics reports that are delivered in either text file formats, Excel spreadsheet .csv formats, or both.
