VoIP-7
VoIP-7 will provide you with significantly lower expansion costs, fuller-featured products and solutions, and assure your business of having the best foundation today and tomorrow.
VoIP is the emerging technology of sending packetized voice over a network using the Internet protocol. The driving force for the proliferation of voice-over-packet networks is lower costs. In telecommunications, time literally is money. In a competitive industry your system's call setup time, carrier communications, resources wasted on uncompletable calls and incomplete billing information directly affect your bottom line. It is therefore to your advantage to seek a system with the best possible call control capabilities. The VoIP network models currently endorsed by the International Softswitch Consortium (ISC) and the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) favor call transport using the MGCP (Megaco) H.248 or H.323 protocols. These protocols work; but they frequently suffer from congestion, delays, and ultimately dissatisfied customers. NACT's revolutionary counter-proposal is to transport voice packets over the SS7/C7 protocol. The SS7/C7 protocol allows the switch to use out-of-band signaling. Out-of-band signaling refers to the capability of the protocol to send signaling information separately from the voice circuits. This greatly increases call processing and trunk efficiency in the IPAX because call setup speeds are as low as 1/10 of a second. We call these SS7 messages enhanced with VoIP information VoIP-7. VoIP-7 gives the IPAX Gateway the ability to not use trunks if the called party phone is busy. The trunks that would have been used to make the call can then be used to make other calls. VoIP-7 also provides the ability to release calls to the previous gateways if the call fails for a user-termination reason other than user-busy. The current VoIP gateway market leaders come from the data network background. Quality of Service (QoS), capacity, and reliability are new to this market, not to mention the intricacies of handling signaling, call records, and billing. SS7/C7 messages enhanced with VoIP information means that the IPAX can leap over these deficiencies and deliver a richly detailed call record. NACT feels that VoIP-7 will provide you with significantly lower expansion costs, fuller-featured products and solutions, and assure you of having the best foundation today and tomorrow for your business. |
